Milan, September 26, 2025 After a successful edition in Hannover, the world’s leading metalworking exhibition, EMO, is set to return to Italy in 2027. The upcoming edition, titled “A Journey to the Centre of Innovation,” will take place from 4 to 8 October 2027 at the fieramilano exhibition centre, once again positioning Milan as a global hub for advanced manufacturing, automation, and smart industry technologies.
The announcement was made during a press conference organized by UCIMU-SISTEMI PER PRODURRE, the Italian machine tools, robots, and automation systems manufacturers’ association, within EMO HANNOVER 2025. Promoted by CECIMO, the European Association of Manufacturing Technologies, and organized by EFIM – ENTE FIERE ITALIANE MACCHINE, EMO alternates biennially between Hannover and Milan.
A Proven Legacy of Success
Italy last hosted EMO in 2021, a remarkable edition that took place despite the challenges posed by the pandemic. Even then, 60,000 professionals from across the globe attended, confirming Milan’s enduring appeal and resilience as a destination for global industry leaders. The previous Milan edition in 2015 remains a record-setting success, attracting an unprecedented number of exhibitors and visitors, making it one of the most vibrant showcases in the event’s history.
“EMO MILANO has always represented more than just a trade show — it’s a global meeting point for innovation and industrial transformation,” said a spokesperson from UCIMU-SISTEMI PER PRODURRE. “The 2027 edition will reaffirm this legacy by presenting the technologies shaping the next decade of production.”
A Global Showcase of Industrial Innovation
EMO MILANO 2027 will feature the complete spectrum of international metalworking technologies — from metal cutting and metal forming machine tools to robots, automation systems, additive manufacturing, digitalization, and artificial intelligence. The exhibition will also highlight the industry’s growing focus on sustainability, emphasizing the role of advanced manufacturing in achieving global environmental goals.
Under the theme “A Journey to the Centre of Innovation,” the event will provide visitors with a forward-looking view of how digital technologies, smart systems, and sustainable production are revolutionizing industrial competitiveness worldwide.
Milan: A City Ready to Host the World
The organisers anticipate record participation in 2027, with the fair expected to be fully sold out. To meet growing demand, all 12 exhibition halls at fieramilano have been reserved for EMO MILANO 2027. The city’s excellent connectivity, world-class infrastructure, and dynamic industrial ecosystem further strengthen its appeal as the host location.
Recognizing the importance of smooth logistics for international participants, EMO MILANO 2027 has partnered with MiCo DMC, its official and exclusive hospitality partner, to streamline accommodation planning. Starting September 2025, visitors and exhibitors can access a dedicated booking platform through the event’s website, emo-milan.com, to find suitable hotels and services in Milan and surrounding areas. This ensures a seamless experience tailored to every budget and requirement.
Looking Ahead: Innovation and Collaboration
With the industrial landscape evolving rapidly, EMO MILANO 2027 aims to serve as a strategic platform for collaboration, connecting technology providers, investors, policymakers, and thought leaders. The event will not only showcase cutting-edge machinery but also foster dialogue on the future of manufacturing from digital transformation to green production systems.
The organizers have already begun preparations to ensure the 2027 edition delivers unmatched opportunities for business networking, technology transfer, and strategic partnerships. Detailed information, project updates, and new initiatives will continue to be published on the official website emo-milan.com, starting from September 2025.
“EMO MILANO 2027 will be a true celebration of human ingenuity, technology, and sustainability,” stated the organisers. “It will bring together the brightest minds and the most advanced solutions to shape the future of global manufacturing.”
As the countdown to October 2027 begins, the world’s eyes once again turn to Milan — the beating heart of industrial innovation — ready to host the next great chapter in the evolution of the metalworking sector.
